I’m Jorge Parrales. But if you happen to be around my father and I at the same time, I am Jorge Parrales II.
My passions are simple.
I love to write, in any capacity. When all is said and done, if I can make a living from writing every day, it will be the pinnacle of perfection.
I love to teach. Whether I am coaching a basketball team or human video or teaching other people to write, I love to pass on knowledge. It motivates me to keep obtaining more knowledge of my own. I especially love teaching people to write. Writing ability is an undervalued gift. I wish more people knew what they could achieve simply by writing properly.
I love to speak. Public speaking comes easily to me, but not always naturally. As in, I love to talk to crowds, I am just not sure if I am always interesting.
I continually aim to become a better friend, husband, brother and son. Perhaps somewhere down the line, when I’ve gone mad, I’ll also add “father” to that list.
In my spare time–not much of that available these days–I am attempting to learn web design. I would also like to eventually become a mobile app developer.
I live in Duncanville (TX) with my beautiful wife….and our three pets. We have two cats and one dog. Don’t ask me what kind of cats. Their names are Holly and Darcy. Holly prefers me, which is the main reason my wife wound up getting another cat. Darcy is obsessed with Tara, in a way that borders on downright creepy. Our dog’s name is Sirius. He is half-chihuahua, half-miniature doberman. Picture an animal that looks like a bat and deer mix, without any wings, and that’s what he looks like.
If she could have her way, my wife would be adding new pets every month. She’s perfect, in that cliche’d way that people make fun of. I know a lot of men (the smart ones, anyway) regularly say that they married women way outside of their league, but it is so true for me. She’s so hot, so smart, so fun.
I am a Christian, having returned to faith in August of 2010. Prior to that, I spent about four years away from church as an agnostic and exile. Along with my other endeavors to make a living as a writer and a web designer, I am also now working toward a life of ministry once again. I had forgotten how exhausting it is, but I love it.
